Injection Foam – Insulate your walls without removing drywall!!!!

Injection Foam

Is your home finished but you still have the desire to have spray foam insulation? If so, we can help!

It is no secret that spray foam insulation is the most efficient insulating material available today. The thermal properties are higher than any of its competitors and it also holds more capabilities than all of them combined. Unlike its adversary’s Spray foam insulation is not subjected to sagging or deterioration. Closed cell spray foam is water resistant and acts as its own vapor barrier and both closed cell and open cell are excellent air and sound barriers. These characteristics are what separates spray foam insulation from traditional insulation materials.

Because your not remodeling your home or building a new home you may be assuming that spray foam insulation is not for you. Fortunately, There is a type of foam that has been created  specifically for your situation and that material is Injection polyurethane foam. This foam is a slow rising foam, which means it does not expand as rapidly as traditional spray polyurethane foam insulation. Do you have existing insulation in your wall cavities? No worries, injection foam is dense enough to compact existing insulation and completely fill your wall cavity making it air tight. This may seem like a complicated time consuming process but I am happy to inform you the process is relatively easy. The foam can be injected from either the inside or outside of your home. The process is the same whether we are inside, outside, if you have stucco, brick or siding. To inject the foam we will need to drill two 5/8s inch holes in every stud cavity, one hole halfway up the wall and the other at the top of the wall. We start by injecting the foam in the hole halfway up the wall and let the injection foam expand up to the hole and then we repeat the process for the hole at the top of the wall.

The injection process is easy, fast and affordable. Thanks to the ingenuity of the spray foam insulation industry it is possible for you to experience a comfortable, cozy, quiet and efficient living space in your existing home. If you have any questions about the Injection polyurethane foam material itself or the process please call us at 636-675-3330 or visit our website at www.greenspaceconstruct.com

St. Louis Insulation Contractor Insulates 6 Row Brewing Company

Green Space Construction is constantly working on a variety of insulation projects, from residential homes to commercial businesses.

We recently completed a unique insulation job for the 6 Row Brewing Company in midtown St. Louis.

This particular job gave us a chance to showcase some of the unique qualities and abilities that set us apart from other St. Louis insulation contractors. There were a number of challenges that we faced on the project and we were able to tackle each one individually, successfully completing the job and keeping our customers satisfied.

The brewery itself was located in a century-old warehouse. Inside there were 16 ft. concrete walls along with concrete ceilings. The concrete walls were extremely porous. There were many cracks and voids that needed to be addressed so that water would not leak into the building. Also, because the client’s brewing process is particularly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, a quality insulation material was needed for the space.

The only effective material to insulate concrete with is spray foam insulation. We installed closed cell spray foam at a depth of 2 inches, effectively stopping 95% of all energy loss and waterproofing the building as well. Even just a thin amount of spray foam will provide very good thermal properties for whatever type of building you have.

On top of concrete issues, all the foam had to be FDA food grade fire coated spray foam in order to pass health and food inspection.

We also had to deal with installing spray foam around all of the client’s brewery equipment. Once again Green Space was able to come through for our client. We effectively sprayed foam around their 10′ high brewing vats, brewing control computers and many other pieces of equipment essential to the brewing process.

It took 3 months of planning with the client and the city health inspector before we were ready to start spraying installation. Once we had finished the job we had sprayed over 9000 sq. feet of high quality closed cell spray foam.

Green Space Construction was able provide the client with an energy efficient space to meet their business needs and do so at an affordable price. The spray foam we installed also waterproofed the building, which also solved the leakage issue.

5 Things To Check Before Hiring A Spray Foam Insulation Contractor

best st. louis insulation contractor, Spray Foam Insulation St. Louis, Spray Foam St. Louis, St. Louis Spray Foam, St. Louis Spray Foam Insulation, St. Louis Spray Foam Contractor, St. Louis Spray Foam Installer, Foam Insulation St. Louis, Insulation St. Louis, Insulation Saint Louis, St. Louis Insulation ContractorHiring a contractor can be a frustrating task, especially when you need them to do a service you don’t know a lot about.  It can be easy to see if someone remodels great bathrooms or kitchens but it can be tough to measure if someone is good at waterproofing your foundation, digging a well in your back yard, or even installing insulation in your attic.

You’ll want to sleep good at night knowing you can trust the contractor you are going to hire. Before you hire a contractor it’s best to do some research on his business.  If your contractor has these five things then you will be able to protect yourself against any problems that could arise when insulating your home or commercial building.

1. Insurance

Your insulation contractor needs to be insured. Sure, he’s not swinging a wrecking ball into a portion of your house or driving a bulldozer in your back yard but he still needs to be insured.

Weird things can happen on any job and you never know when something will come up and the contractor will need that insurance to protect him and or you against what happened on the job. A million dollars is not a crazy amount to be insured for either. So make sure the contractor is insured for an amount that can cover any serious mishap that might happen during the job.

2. A professional looking contract or bid

Any contractor who thinks they are going to get your job by quoting a price on a cocktail napkin needs to rethink their strategy a bit.

And trust me, there are plenty of contractors who bid this way. If you happen to run into one just quickly brush them to the side.

Remember, you want to be able to hold something concrete in your hands when it comes to making a decision on who will insulate your property. Not to mention a professional bid is indicative of a professional contractor. It says he cares about his clients and he cares about his own business. So no cocktail napkins!

3. Better Business Bureau

It’s not only good that your insulation contractor is excellent at what he does but he needs to be honest as well. The Better Business Bureau will be able to tell you if he has been walking away with people’s money before the job is complete. Even if someone has recommended him personally to you, if he has any red flags with the BBB it is best to stay away and look elsewhere.

4. Portfolio

A good insulation contractor should always be able to show you a portfolio of his work. A picture is worth a thousand words. Even if you have a general idea of what his work is going to look like, it is still best for him to show you some examples of some previous jobs he has done. That way you are on the same page as the contractor and it should lead you to the last item on this list…

5. References

This may be the most important one on the list. The more references the better. References are sort of like a contractor’s credit score. If it’s high then he should have an extensive list of clients he has worked for in the past who are ready to vouch for his work. If he doesn’t have a lot of references it means his score is low and that you should be wary of doing business with him.

If you want even more insurance you can check contractor reviews on Angie’s List. If your insulation contractor is really worthwhile he will have a listing there and should have some reviews for you to go over.

Green Space Construction has just recently joined forces with Bayer the manufacturer of Bayseal spray-applied polyurethane foam.

Because of this we felt it was only appropriate to partner with one of the best spray foam manufacturers in the market today. We feel our new relationship with Bayer will help us stay one step ahead of the spray foam insulation contracting industry.

Our new connection to Bayer will help back our guarantee that we are providing our clients with the most efficient foam material available today. We are pleased to ensure you that we are applying top quality polyurethane foam for every job at a reasonable and affordable price.

Bayseal closed-cell foam carries an R-value of 6.9 for every square inch of applied foam.

Along with its outstanding R-value yields the Bayseal closed-cell foam acts as its own vapor barrier. The material contains fire retardant materials and is an excellent air barrier as well.

Bayseal’s superior closed-cell foam material is also complimented by an open-cell foam, which is a two component, low density, non-structural insulation system. This allows for excellent thermal benefits while still obtaining critical air sealing characteristics. This results in increased energy savings, creating a comfortable living and operating environment for building occupants.

We are very pleased with our new relationship with Bayseal. We take pride in the fact that we are able to offer Bayseal’s superior polyurethane foam products to our clients
